Tundish preheating and drying systems, also hydraulic or electro-mechanical driven vertical ignition systems are offered to lift the tundish heater cover from the Tundish. Tundish is normally designed in a vertical position with the burners facing directly towards the Tundish.
Tundish Heaters can be designed as multi-burner units to suit ‘time/temperature’ requirements and can also be individually customized to accommodate tundish layouts and sizes. Tundish heating and drying systems are offered in both ‘full cover’ and partial ‘division’ designs to suit our customers’ lid configurations.
Combustion air fans are mounted behind the Tundish heater to provide partial counterweight.
The air passageway is usually provided by the heater cover support structure, which minimizes the pressure drop and also provides cooling for the structure.
The control systems of Tundish Heatings are designed with gradual heating and temperature step control to meet the requirements of the refractory drying program.
